Our 4th !

Dale with his candy bucket before the parade started.
The kids before the parade got to us..waiting.
I liked this bike ..so I snapped a pic of it.
Kids scrambling for candy on the ground!!
I thought since everyone else was posting on the 4th I would too.So I had not seen any post about going to 4th july parades. That is what we do here in Redmond. So Brian got to work on the 4th and make extra money for us all to help him spend..haha. We packed some little buckets and bags (for candy) ,water bottles and blanket for kids and chair for mom and headed to town.We have went to this parade for I think the last 8 years if we are home The people in the parade throw candy at the kids watching the parade.Last year we took home so much candy we let our kids eat a little then the rest we put in gallon zip-lock bags 3 of them full .We saved this candy for the Oregon church camp out that is put on by the Brownsville brothern. They have 3 or 4 pinahtas for the kids to hit and break ,we took all this candy to that. This year we probly got about 7 or 8 pounds of candy but our kids kept theirs all seperated and don't want to take it for pinahta (don't know why..hehe).Oh well it will just rot their teeth out now or later. So here is some cute pictures at the parade.
After the parade we came home to wait for Brian to get home in hopes that he would go to the community pool with us.Well when he got home he thought it was too hot to go to the pool .So kids and mom once again set out to the pool ,it was 101 out side going by the car tempeture thingy. The pool was great ! Normally mom doesn't get in much just watches but this day mom stayed in pool most of the 2 hour we were there. Then we went home to prepare for dinner and church. As for church we was not sure if anyone would be there.
We arrived alittle early to run the vaccumm.Rusty and Dawn called to tell us then had a flat tire and had not left there house yet at 7:25 and Doug was sick and would not be at church. So we told them that we would wait for them if they wanted to fix tire and come on out to church. After waiting until they arrived at 7:55 we started church ..with our great big group . It lasted about 45 minutes, then we visited for about 30 minutes .
They headed home to watch fire works in town and we went down to the canyon to a parking lot where we live to do our fireworks that TheDad had bought for The Kids.Lots of other people there doing theres too ,but they were all grounders none up in the sky..I love those kind. So that is our fun 4th.no pictuure of the fire works as my batteries had went died in my camera.

Sounds like it was a fun filled day! Good for you for taking the kids to the parade and pool all by yourself....I'm impressed. Most times I would just rather stay home than go without Sean....It's a lot of work!

Wow! It is really getting hot there now. The weekend was nice and pretty mild. Looks like you had fun. The pool sounds great especially at 101 degrees!

Sounds fun. We didn't go to a parade, and I'm glad. I would have had to help with my little sisters/brother.

I remember that parade at Crooked River Ranch? It is fun to have a tradition to do for your kids, and they don't forget that kind of stuff. And by the way, or btw, that is alot of candy Michelle. Cortez would be in hog heaven.
