Little girls Tea Party

Table set for Tea Party
My 3 girls and 3 friends.
Tea
The boys finishing up the Tea.

My little girls have been begging me since before school got out..(2 weeks)if they could have a Tea Party .Well I thought I could just keep putting them off ,but they will just keep bugging me about it.So on tuesday we call a couple of there friend that live right by us .Told them they are invited to jion us for Tea.

So I being the mother had to get up in the morning instead of sleeping in.Clean the kitchen from night before ...too lazy to do it after dinner .Thenget the tea set out of the rubbermaid tote. These are dishes that my girls got from their Grandma Betha in Colorado ,last summer when we were out there. So they were very special.Tea Party planned for friends to come at 10 and party to start at 10:30 .Mom fixed 2 kinds of little sandwiches, pickle slices, cheese cubes, sliced peaches, and pop buscuit dounuts cut into little bit size pieces with hot tea .The girls dressed up and got there hair brushed...(a first for this week.if your not going any where and it's summer do you really have to get dressed and fix your hair.)

They had a great time with there Tea Party .I took lots of pictures and here are just a few .When the girls finished up i straightened the table and invited the boys to finish up ... figured they had to eat lunch too!

Strawberry Freezer Jam Yummy-for your Tummy!

The pre-frozen berries picked by all of us.
Work in progress ,the work area.
The empty containers.
The product of my work, sooo sweet it is!

As some of you may know over in the valley is one of the best places to get Strawberries. While over there for my nephew Chris' graduation we picked strawberries and then my mother picked more for me.So we in the end had 65 pounds of strawberries .Now we get to eat frozen berries .But our family favorite is Strawberry freezer jam,so that is what I am doing this morning .I stayed up after Brian left for work (instead of going back to bed until kids wake me up) at 5:00 am .Here is some pictures of the work in progress ,can't wait to eat it! My only problem is now I have ran out of containers.still have 10 gallon bags of berries and no more containers for the jam once made. Will have to make more tomorrow morning after getting mor container today.

Dale On the Mountain

After our big weekend over in the valley for my nephew's graduation we switched Elise for Cassidy .So today we went up on the mountain and meet at the top of Tomb Stone Pass to switch kids back.Dale found this log while we we're there .My sister-in-law Connie said "Oh, you should take a picture of him and post it on your blog.Like Trina does with all the pictures of her boys she takes everyday." I think Connie is just a lurker and has not decided to join the fun here yet...HEHE ...Not sure if she thought Trina takes a lot of pictures or if she was jealous of the fact that Trina remembers to keep that camera handy and always ready. But I did happen to have the camera in the van since no one knows how to clean the car all the way out .HAHA.. He is so cute ,I put it on my computer desktop.

While we were up on the mountain we hiked around on a trail. We got there about 10 -15 minutes before Connie. And the kids wanted to hike so I got out and we took a couple of trails and the came back to the car .Found them there waiting for us.Switched kids and headed on our way.Few hours later while at home and eating dinner Connie calls she says"Does any of your kids have Poison Oak?" I check all my kids and don't find anything.I had not even thought about the fact that her kids and family can get it almost just from thinking about it and they get it bad! I felt bad but she said it was okay she would just keep Cassidy away from everyone and wash everything she had wore and the car seat she sat on.

The Bathroom Remodel

The bathroom all tore out and getting ready for shower
We forgot to put this part on the shower knob so Mackenzie had to climb in behind the shower and help us.
Brian working on sheetrocking the bathroom wall.

Well the addition part of our house has come to a stall. We have started the remodel of our main bathroom. What we hoped would not be too big a job has turned pretty big.We started by taking everything out of the bathroom last thursday night. Then on friday morningwe left to head to Bend to retreive all plumbing and shower stuff .Which ended up taking us until 2:30 to return home with our truck load of stuff. We removed a manufactured home plastic bathtube and we are replacing it with a fibrglas shower stall. It has been alot of work ,mainly the plumbing part.Brian does not like plumbing and I guess thats why he is a carpenter instead. So now we have the shower in and the toilet in and a real nice old jean quilt door.We continue working on it everyday, when Brian is home.He hopes by next week to be ready for the tile floor .He got this real nice tile off a job free when Bro.Colin lived here and he worked for him at the Bend high school. We could sure use a good tile setter next wee if anyone knows one.....hint,hint if Cheri and Lee are out there let them know.
